Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah in Zahedan, Shaikh Abdol-Hameed Ismaeelzahi, following recitation of Holy verse: “وَاللَّهُ يَدْعُو إِلَى دَارِ السَّلَامِ وَيَهْدِي مَنْ يَشَاءُ إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ”, said that Islam emphasizes health of inner side as well as apparent parts for the whole humanity. Islam is the way of nature insuring health of soul and body for everyone.
He added more saying, ‘Islam is the religion that urges on cleanliness and healthy life; Salaam or peace/health is one of the Allah’s names. Exalted Allah called the paradise “Dar-us-Salaam” that means paradise is a place where peace and health are fully available. Islam has plans for the health of body and spirit as well.’
Continuing his points regarding the subject, Imam and Khateeb of the Grand Makki mosque of Zahedan stated that health of both inner and outside parts of human beings is so important according Islam; thus purity of inner side is half of Iman (faith) of a believer. According Islam’s teachings, after wet-dreams and intercourse having bath is must, for offering prayers performing ablution is necessary; all of these prove that health and cleanliness are important in Islam.
The outstanding Islamic scholar pointed that neatness of both heart and body is complementary for purity of the man. The person who is not clean can not worship Allah Almighty correctly. So body’s cleanliness is the first step of spiritual purity. On the other hand, when a person neglects his/her inner purity and commits sins, it affects body’s health and cleanliness negatively.
‘The most important thing in this regard is acting upon nature; refusal from the nature causes corporal and intrinsic problems. We must know that the nature is the way of Islam and Sunnah, it is the path of Tawhid and worshiping Allah without associating any partner for Him,’ Shaikh Ismaeelzahi accentuated.
Maulana Abdol-Hameed Ismaeelzahi went on to say that “health and peace” are two great blessings of Allah; when a person does not feel insecurity and lack of peace in body, beliefs and various angles of life, it is very vital blessing of Allah Almighty.
The chancellor of Darululoom Zahedan declared outbreak of incurable and perilous diseases such as AIDS the result of misdeeds and sins in any society. He added more saying that there are many maladies around the world without certain treatment and cure; these diseases are the results of misdeeds. Researches suggest that AIDS breaks out due to bawdry; Allah Exalted forbade from misdeed and adultery saying: “وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا الزِّنَا إِنَّهُ كَانَ فَاحِشَةً وَسَاءَ سَبِيلًا”، (Do not even go close to fornication. It is indeed a shameful act, and an evil way to follow.) It asks people do avoid foreparts of fornication like invalid meetings and illicit relations which end up to adultery. Adultery affects health of soul and body. Stealing, lie, vilifying and backbiting plus all sins defile soul, body and piety of man.
He further underlined saying, ‘As we need to consult physician doctors in the case of bodily diseases, in the same way we are compelled to follow advices of spiritual therapists in order to get rid of sins and misdeeds. This is the field of Islamic scholars and righteous people. The real scholar is not the person who invented computer or nuclear weapon, rather real scholar is the one who knows Allah well.’
He emphasized that if any scientist is aware of all material sciences but knows nothing about his creator neglecting the next life; in fact he is an ignorant. Allah says about such people: “يَعْلَمُونَ ظَاهِرًا مِنَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ عَنِ الآخِرَةِ هُمْ غَافِلُونَ” (They know something superficial of the worldly life, but of the Hereafter they are negligent.)
Shaikh warns: hidden hands create tribal disputes in the region
In the last part of his sermon, Shaikh Abdol-Hameed Ismaeelzahi indicated toward assassination of ‘Haji Haidar Baroque’, a tribal chief in Khash city and stated, ‘Killing innocent human who has not killed anyone is illegal. The Holy Prophet (peace & blessings be upon him) prohibited three things in “Hajjat-ul-Widaa”: blood of the believers and their wealth and honor.’
Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah had premonition of ‘hidden hands’ which strive to create tribal disputes and clashes in the region. ‘We must be discreet and vigilant; some elements want to turn us to the era of ignorance before Islam. Tribal partiality and intolerance must not be seen in society once again. We all are offspring of Adam and Eve. These tribes are just for identity not bias and pride,’ he added more.
Shaikh asked the security officials to detain the culprits as soon as possible. Masses should help the oppressed to get his due right in accordance with the law. If any individual commits any crime like killing, so only that person should be pursued not the entire tribe.
At the end, prominent Sunni leader called on tribal elders and influential individuals to play their role in order to resolve such affrays and halt possible extension of them.
