Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah in Zahedan, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdul Hameed Ismaeelzahi addressed newly elected Islamists of Egypt, Libya and Tunis in his latest Friday sermon calling them to imitate Islam accurately.
Shaikh Ismaeelzahi pointed that masses have reached to this idea that Islam is the only remedy of their problems. Uprisings in Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Bahrain and Syria proved the fact that people are against tyrants and dictatorship; people are sure that religion can guarantee their honor, and basic rights and freedoms.
‘That is why, people elected Islamists in those countries where revolutionary movements succeeded,’ he added more.
The outstanding Sunni leader went on saying, ‘The winner Islamists are at an important examination; the whole world observes their performance as politicians and post-dictators rulers. Islamists must strive to implement Islam of the Qur’an & Sunnah, Kholafa-e-Rashideen, Sahabah and Ahl-ul-Bait. They should provide people’s rights and freedom of speech for all, including opponents and leftists.’
He advised the Islamists ruthfully to avoid material means of the world and focus on the ease and munificence of people. He pointed that if Islamists try to hoard money and treasure, they will lose their prestige and influence. All masses should be equal in their eyes. They should act impartially.
‘Narrow-minded people can not get success; limitative policies and restriction on one idea or party would lead to close streets. Islam is not limited to any particular group or class of society. Rather, Islam is an impartial and dispassionate religion. No one should try to implement his particular concept of Islam,’ Mawlana Abdul Hameed emphasized.
He further said that people must be hopeful over their future in the rule of Islamists. As Islam is an anti-violence religion and it was not founded by any army or police force, people as well want justice and equal rights. Real Islam is the way that Holy Prophet and Kholafa-e-Rashideen, four guided caliphs, conducted in their era.
Ratiocinating some stories of the First Caliph, Abu Bakr As-Siddiq and his substitute Omar bin Khattab as they provided people full liberties. Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, announced that he was not interested in caliphate but people chose him their Khalifah; ‘the weakest citizen is the most powerful one in my rule,’ Abu Bakr As-Siddiq stated.
Sharing the story of Omar bin Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him; Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah said that he gave masses complete freedom of speech. When a person said “If you go contrary to the right path, I will correct you by my sword!” hearing this, Omar commended Allah Almighty.
The head of the Coordination Council of Sunni Seminaries added more saying that appearance of the forth Caliph, Ali bin Abitalib, before his own appointed judge over the petition of a Jew proves that real Islam teaches justice and equality. ‘So Islamists in Muslim states must try to follow them step by step steadfastly and not to break the trust of people on them, they should be pragmatic rulers.
