Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah in Zahedan, Shaikh Abdol-Hameed, explained in his latest Friday discourse the importance of “pudency” and its great status in Islam putting it the root cause of mankind’s honor and respect.
He began his sermon by reading the famous saying of Holy Prophet: «الإيمان بضع و ستون أو سبعون شعبة فأرفعها قول لا إله إلا الله و أدناها إماطة الأذى عن الطريق و الحياء شعبة من الإيمان», (the faith has more than sixty or seventy branches; the highest one is saying: La Elaha Ella-Allah, and the lowest one is to put away the disturbance from the way, and modesty is a branch of the faith.)
Talking to tens of thousands in the Grand Makki Masjid of Zahedan, Shaikh Ismaeelzahi underlined, “Pudency is one of the important branches of Eeman (faith) that is very important in the Islamic teachings and culture. The beloved prophet, peace & blessings be upon him, likened the faith to a tree; it has roots under the earth and many branches. Islam has some strong roots and modesty is one the most considerable branches of that. Without modesty the tree of faith will be ugly and free of splendor.”
Encouraging the audience to be modest, he further said that Islam had enjoined people to have pudency. It is essential for protecting the faith, honor and serenity. It has been narrated from Hassan, may Allah be pleased with him, that modesty gives honor and respect to people. It is also clear from the words of prophets, peace be upon them, that immodest men and women can commit any sins; modesty forbids people to disobey their Lord and violate the rights of others. Modesty ensures the protection of mankind’s virtue and chastity.
The eminent Islamic scholar added more, “Modesty is a serious ethical affair. Holy Qur’an ordered the believer men and women to have chastity in sights and deeds. Allah says in the chapter Noor: “And tell the believing women that they must lower their gazes and guard their private parts,” the same verse has come for believing men. Any quantity of modesty benefits its owner. Holy prophet (PBUH) had pudency more than veiled girls.”
He emphasized saying Islam has the best civilization and ethical principles that spreads modesty in societies. Islamic civilization transcends all civilizations. Modest citizens do not violate others’ due rights; it forbids people to disobey Allah Almighty. Islam’s ethical rules enjoin veracity. Islam has cursed lying and put it along with perjury the signs of hypocrisy.

Blasphemers of Holy Qur’an & Prophet Muhammad; stain on humanity
In another part of his speech, Khateeb of Sunnis censured irreverent elements saying, “Apart of Muslims, the entire human community gets the advantages of Holy Prophet Muhammad’s instructions and Islamic civilization. Holy Qur’an introduces Holy Prophet a mercy for all. Prophets are proud of the last prophet Muhammad; regretfully some fanatic elements insult such a great dignitary. Such sinister people are not deserved to be called “human”; they are stain on the face of humanity. These ignorant offenders invite the divine punishment, in fact.”
He added more saying that more than 1.5 billion Muslims love Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace & blessings be upon him. It is the blessing of Allah that Islam forbids affront of all sanctities and holy persons. All prophets are respectable for Muslims; even Muslims are not allowed to insult idols. Insulting is the mark of failure and lake of wisdom and logic.
“Sacrilege of Holy Qur’an and Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, is very perilous for humanity; it is an overt risk for peace in the world. The blasphemers must be tried. The Western countries who deny trial of irreverent circles must know their regulations for freedom of speech are constituted by human beings; they are faults which need reformation. Sacrilege should not be permitted in any law. Blasphemers jeopardy peace and stability of the world,” Shaikh Abdol-Hameed urged.
Indicating to Muslims’ mass demonstrations across the globe, Shaikh concluded his points by saying, “It is the right of Muslims to protest such blasphemous steps; but killing innocent citizens of any country and damaging public constructions are illegal acts. The international community, rulers of Muslim states and all free thinkers must not remain silent.”
