Mawlana Abdol-Hamid shed light on the importance of donation and spending money for getting satisfaction of the Almighty and called on the audience to this Islamic obligatory.
Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan began his sermon of May 13, 2016 by the Noble Qur’anic verse: “إِنَّ اللَّـهَ اشْتَرَىٰ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُم بِأَنَّ لَهُمُ الْجَنَّةَ; Surely Allah has purchased of the believers their lives and their belongings and in return has promised that they shall have Paradise.” [9: 111]
He said, “The lives and wealth both are the grants of the Almighty, but He purchases them due to His kindness and magnificence.”
“Do not be afraid of losing wealth by donating on the path of Allah. Allah has promised us if we give donations, He will reward us manifold wealth. The paradise belongs to Allah and its price is high. For obtaining the paradise we should give the expenses. Poor and needy people need our supports, we should help them financially,” Shaikh added more.
He underlined, “But our intention from donating must be the satisfaction of the Almighty not earning more wealth and properties. In fact, wealth belongs to Allah. If we want the paradise, donating must not be a difficult work for us which may make us worried.”
Expressing his regret over the refusal of some people from giving Zakah, the rector of Darululoom Zahedan said, “We see lots of negligence and inaction about paying Zakah. Some people do not pay Zakah at all and some others do not pay fully. If all people were paying Zakah if their properties in the society, poverty would have been inconspicuous and Islamic seminaries would not have financial problems.”
Denouncing stinginess, he said, “Allah Almighty uproots stingy societies. When the family of prisoners, orphans and widows face financial problems and wealthy people do not pay Zakah, the Almighty would punish rich people.”
Pointing out to the Battle of Tabouk, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid expressed the sacrifices of the companions, may Allah be pleased with all of them, who provided their wealth and souls for the sake of Islam.
“In that hard battle, the honest believers and hypocrites were distinguished and recognized. Three of the honest companions showed negligence, but Allah forgave them. Whenever the Qur’an mentions any mistake of the companions, it affirms their forgiveness, too.”
Alluding to the concept of Jihad in Islam, the eminent Islamic scholar said, “Jihad is for fighting against occupiers and invaders who do not accept peace and agreement for reconciliation. Jihad is against any kind of threat that jeopardizes Islam with soul and wealth. The Battle of Tabouk also was to rebuff the threat of the Roman army who were preparing to assault on Madinah.
Military Court Must Try Offenders Seriously
In the second part of his speech, the outstanding Iranian Sunni leader expressed his discontent over some ‘illegal acts’ in the armed forces, asking the authorities in the Military Court of Iran to implement justice.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said, “Unfortunately, sometimes we witness some problems as some of the forces cause physical and financial damages for people.”
“None of societies is innocent and clean 100% and offenders can be found in any community, even among Ulama, academic intellectuals and collegians. Also, among the armed forces and security personnel who provide services, anti-Revolution men can be found; but it is an incidental case,” Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan underlined.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid added more, “Such elements in the body of the armed forces can create problems for the good and patriot citizens to make them angry and upset. So if any case appears and people bear damages, the offenders should be tried seriously.”
Alluding to the positive effects of trying offenders, the rector of Darululoom Zahedan urged, “If the Military Court tries offenders hardly, it would be a service for the security forces. All are equal before the law and anyone who violates the laws and regulations, he should be responsible.”
“There are some incidents where the law is violated and people lose their rights. The soul and wealth of people which is secured in the national laws and Islam are wasted. The offenders should be tried as the people get satisfaction that justice is executed,” he further said.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid pointed out, “The implementation of justice is very vital and important. By implementation of justice, peace is obtained and fraternity would be enhanced.”
He concluded his points by saying, “We make Du’a for the Military Court and Judiciary Organization of the Armed Forces for more achievements. The biggest achievement for them is ‘execution of justice’ and giving the rights of people. Because, on a side is a staff member of the government and on the other hand is a common citizen who may not be able to fill out a complaint and follow it up. Execution of justice in such conditions is really difficult, but it has lots of rewards and very positive and great consequences.”
