The outstanding Sunni leader, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid Isma’eelzahi, addressed the state-run security departments to control their personnel to act according to the laws and to not make people angry.

Talking to tens of thousands worshippers in Zahedan on Friday, 08 August 2014, Khateeb and Friday Imam of Sunnis alluded to shooting incidents by the police took place in Zahedan city recently and said, “We have received complaints from people over gunfire by security personnel in the city as in two different incidents a young student was shot dead and another one received injuries.”

He further said, “We think the overall situation in the province is satisfactory; different departments and security officials want to serve people. There is no any serious problem between the masses and state-run departments. But there are some personnel of the security offices who infiltrated these departments and they behave with people according to their wishes not the regulations.”

The Sunni leader asked the audience to respect the national law and recommended the families of victims to register their complaints in the case of illegal and biased behavior of the security personnel and shooting incidents. “The judiciary is ready to follow up such cases and we hope they will provide people justice by trial of the culprits,” he added more.

Zahedan city belongs to the entire Iranian nation, no need of passport to enter it!
In another part of his speech, the rector of Darululoom Zahedan and the most influential Sunni scholar in Iran criticized the biased behavior of some security personnel at the entry check posts of Zahedan city.

Alluding to the reports by people and their complaints, he said, “Many citizens from the southern parts of Baluchistan, north of the province, Khorasan, Kerman, Golestan and other provinces complain they have been questioned at the entry check posts of the city. Sometimes, the personnel prevent them to enter the city or they confiscate their identity papers. Many citizens phoned me from different provinces that the authorities stopped them to enter the city.”

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid objected and said, “Zahedan belongs to the entire Iranian nation. People need to visit this city due to its strategic situation; it is the capital of ‘Sistan-Baluchistan’ province and people have no option but to travel to Zahedan for their works. It is the due right of all Iranians to enter the city without passport!”

He further said, “There is another problem that security personnel at the entry checkpoints harass the men having beard; they show more sensitivity if the person has a religious and Islamic style. It is a regrettable point; Iran is an Islamic country and most of the top officials, including the Supreme Leader have religious styles. There must not be such a biased behavior as people feel unease with their clothing and Islamic style.”

“I would like to recommend the personnel of all security offices to take care of the people. They must feel Zahedan is a ‘no go area’ for them. I think such partial manners are personal and not organized,” Mawlana underlined.

He urged on the protection of the people’s unity and satisfactory, saying, “Some people may think our province is not safe, while it is wrong. But we should protect the unity and satisfaction of the citizens. In all Muslim countries where we witness security problems, the radical groups and anti-Islam elements took the advantage of people’s dissatisfaction and discriminative policies of the regimes. Therefore, the official departments should control their personnel to respect people; otherwise they provide chances to the extremists to misuse the anger of them and make the region insecure for all.”

Reporters should strive to report correct news
The eminent Sunni leader pointed out to the “Reporter Day” in Iran and congratulated this day to all reporters, including the delegation of reporters and journalists in the gathering of Sunnis for Friday prayers in Zahedan.

He said, “Reporting is one of the influential jobs in the world; these are reporters who disclose the facts about different incidents and events take place across the world. Even they face serious dangers in their career.”

Giving some suggestions to reporters, the prominent Islamic scholar said, “Reporters should strive to broadcast only accurate news. They should avoid giving coverage to rumors. Broadcasting false news in society causes damages for some people and it is a big sin too.”

At the end, he prayed to Allah for the success and protection of reporters and release of reporters who are in prisons.
