Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan called the religion of Islam a comprehensive religion that advises and urges on protection of human rights with teachings for all aspects of life.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid began his Friday sermon of April 11, 2014 by the Noble verse of the Qur’an: « وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ لاَ تَعْبُدُونَ إِلاَّ اللّهَ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَاناً وَذِي الْقُرْبَى وَالْيَتَامَى وَالْمَسَاكِينِ وَقُولُواْ لِلنَّاسِ حُسْناً وَأَقِيمُواْ الصَّلاَةَ وَآتُواْ الزَّكَاةَ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ إِلاَّ قَلِيلاً مِّنكُمْ وَأَنتُم مِّعْرِضُونَ» [بقره:83], ((Remember) when We took a pledge from the children of Isra’il (Israel): “You shall not worship anyone other than Allah; and you shall do good to the parents, and to near of kin, and to orphans and the needy. And say to the people what is good, and be steadfast in Salah (prayer), and pay Zakah.” Then, you went back (on your word), all but a few among you, and you are used to turning away.)

He said, “By studying the Noble Qur’an and Hadith, we can easily comprehend the fact that Islam is a perfect religion with comprehensive directions for all corners of life. Islamic commands are not limited to prayers, fasting, pilgrimage and Zakah; rather it includes every aspect of human life.”

The eminent Islamic scholar shed light on the recited Qur’anic verse and stated, “Allah Almighty stressed on the rights of parents exactly after the issue of His oneness (Tawhid); it proves human rights are very important in the viewpoint of Islam. Thus nobody can enter the Paradise without taking care of the rights of parents and getting their pleasure. In the same way, this verse urges on the rights of kin, orphans and poor people.”

The Friday Imam of Sunnis in the southeastern Iran pointed out to the strong emphasis of Islam on human rights, saying the perfect religion of Islam urged on human rights more than any other charter. Allah the Sublime mentioned the case of human rights before obligations like Salah, Zakah and Sawm. On the other side, the Last Messenger of Allah urged on human rights on different occasions as the great sayings of the prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, prove it.

“Islam orders its followers to avoid targeting women, children and old aged men even in war fields, and respect worship places of Jews and Christians. Islam teaches Muslims to struggle for the salvation of all human kinds from the fire of the Hereafter,” he added more.

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan concluded his points in this part of his speech by saying it is regrettable many of Muslims neglect the rights of others while a Muslim must work hard always to decrease problems of his fellows as much as he can. Unfortunately, violation of human rights has been spread over the entire world. The states which proclaim to preserve human rights also violate rights of people. Muslim-dominated countries are also affected by violation of human rights.

In the second part of his speech before thousands of worshippers in Zahedan, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid called on the audience to cut cash subsidy if they did not need it.

Pointing out to the second phase of subsidy plan in Iran, he said, “The cash subsidy plan was a wrong decision made by the last government; now the officials face problems in their projects due to heavy pressure from giving subsidy to all Iranians.”

In another part of his sermon, Khateeb of Sunnis pointed out to the scheduled trip of the Iranian president to Sistan-Baluchistan on April 15-16, and stated, “I would like to call on all residents of Zahedan and nearby towns to welcome the president as the hospitability nature of our people require.”

Alluding to some demands of people in Sistan-Baluchistan, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said, “Dr. Rouhani should bring his promises, he made during election campaign, into action regarding the rights of ethnic groups and religious sects. There are many developmental projects which need budget. We hope the president will pay enough attention to the problems of this province.”

Talking on the case of martyrdom of a Darululoom Zahedan’s student in previous days, he said, “The related officials should follow up this case and bring the fact to public.”
