Mawlana Abdol Hamid at the 11th Sirah Conference:

“What matters most is to act upon the Prophet’s (PBUH) character”

Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol Hamid, on the evening of Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the 11th Sirah Conference in Zahedan, described the “lack of adherence to the Prophet’s (PBUH) character” as the greatest deficiency in today’s Islamic society. He emphasized the necessity of “following the Prophet’s (PBUH) character and Sunnah.”

The Character of the Prophet (PBUH) Is the Best and a Comprehensive Model of All Prophets’ Lives
According to the official website of the Office of the Friday Imam of Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol Hamid, speaking at a conference on “The Prophet (PBUH): A Complete Role Model and Teacher of Humanity” held at the Osmaniye Grand Mosque of Zahedan, expressed his delight over the conference’s organization and prayed for the well-being of its organizers. He also supplicated for the mercy and forgiveness of the late Mawlana Abdurrauf, the founder of the Faruqia Religious Seminary and Osmaniye Grand Mosque.
He elaborated on the significance and status of the Prophet’s (PBUH) character, saying:
“The character of the Prophet (PBUH) is the best and most sacred character, embodying the pure and virtuous qualities of all prophets, peace be upon them. It is deeply beloved by Allah Almighty and aligns perfectly with the natural disposition of humankind.”
“He stated adhering to the Prophet’s character essential and emphasized:”
“Mentioning the life of the Prophet (PBUH) brings light to gatherings and enriches life, but the essential matter is acting upon his character. The greatest deficiency in today’s Muslim society is a lack of adherence to his character. If Muslims truly practiced the traditions of the Prophet (PBUH) in their lives, their condition would undoubtedly be far better.”

The Qur’an and the Prophet’s Character Are Two Vital and Great Treasures; The Salvation of Humanity Lies in Following the Qur’an and the Prophet’s Character.
Mawlana Abdol Hamid added:
“The Qur’an and the Prophet’s character are two vital and invaluable treasures. Salvation, success, and prosperity for humanity lie in acting upon the rulings and instructions of these two blessings. Through implementing the Qur’an and the Prophet’s (PBUH) character, one attains closeness to Allah. Without following the Qur’an and Sunnah, we cannot ascend toward Allah. We all must strive to act upon these teachings and encourage others to do the same.”
Highlighting the mercy of the Prophet (PBUH) for all humanity, Mawlana Abdol Hamid noted:
“The Prophet (PBUH) is a mercy for all mankind. As Muslims, you, too, must be a mercy for every person. Demonstrate noble conduct, extend your support to the needy, and contribute to solving people’s problems as much as you are able.”

Study the Life of the Prophet (PBUH)
Mawlana Abdol Hamid stressed the importance of studying the life of the Prophet (PBUH), saying:
“Study the character of the Prophet (PBUH) and strive to incorporate every aspect of his traditions into your lives. Make efforts to emulate his devotion, prayers, night vigils, fasting, pilgrimage, generosity, bravery, and ethics.”
He emphasized the need for educational frameworks in religious seminaries to encourage students to adhere to the Prophet’s (PBUH) character, saying:
“Scholars and students, being the guides and leaders of society, should adhere more closely to the Prophet’s (PBUH) character than anyone else so that others may take inspiration from their morals and conduct.”

Society Needs Specialists with Integrity and Commitment
In another part of his address, Mawlana Abdol Hamid spoke about the importance of education and nurturing:
“Knowledge is crucial and vital. Society needs committed, skilled, and virtuous professionals who serve with dedication. Pursue your studies and do not abandon them.”
Expressing concern over the high dropout rates, particularly in suburban areas of Zahedan, he stated:
“Be affectionate and respectful toward your children. Take them to mosques and beneficial gatherings where they can learn something valuable and put it into practice.”

Fill the Mosques with Worshippers; Their Presence Brings Mosques to Life
Mawlana Abdol Hamid urged attendance at mosques for prayer, remarking:
“Mosques are centers of divine mercy and the places for offering prayers. Mosques should not be empty at Fajr (dawn) prayers. Praying at home does not fulfill the right of the mosque. The liveliness of mosques depends on the presence of worshippers.”
He added:
“Faith and mosques are interconnected. Faith inspires individuals to build and maintain their connection with mosques. You can attest to the faith of someone who consistently attends mosques because a hypocrite cannot maintain a continuous connection with mosques.”
