Shaikh Abdol-Hamid in the Friday prayer ceremony of Zahedan:

Parents’ Rights, above all Human Rights

Referring to the emphasis of Islam on respecting parents’ rights, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid considered “parents’ rights” above the rights of everyone else. He emphasized on respecting parents status in the society in his Friday speech of September 18, 2020.

Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan pointed out: “One of the important rights that Allah has put on human beings is the rights of parents. Allah has placed the rights of parents in the Holy Qur’an after the monotheism, which is the biggest right of Allah the Almighty”.

“Islam is a religion in which human’s rights are fully respected and the rights of parents are at the top of the rights of all. Allah has not emphasized the observance of the rights of any anyone as much as the rights of parents. Allah has mentioned the rights of the parents even before the prayers”, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said.

He added: “Today, there are many complaints that children do not fulfill their duty to their parents. It is stated in the noble Hadith that a companion came to the Holy Prophet PBUH and said: ‘I would like to go to jihad in the way of Allah. The Holy Prophet asked him: ‘Are your parents alive’? ‘Yes’, the companion replied. The Holy Prophet said to him: ‘Go and do jihad in the way of serving your parents’.
According to another narration, a person came to the Prophet PBUH and said: ‘I have come for jihad and my mother cried’. The Holy Prophet PBUH said to him: ‘Go and make your mother laugh. This is your jihad’.”

President of Darululoom Zahedan continued: “Serving parents, loving them and gaining their satisfaction is not only goodness, but it is also a jihad. This is how Allah describes the Prophet Yahya’s morality and says that he was kind to his parents. Describing the kindness of prophet Jesus PBUH to his mother, Allah says: ‘He was kind to his mother’. Allah has ordered us to be humble towards our parents and treat them respectfully.”

“According to the narrations, the pleasure of the Lord lies in the pleasure of the parents. Heaven is under the feet of the parents. Those who want to enter the heaven, they must put themselves in front of their parents. Those who want to be blessed in their lives and livelihoods, they should have mercy and kindness with their relatives”, Imam of the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan said.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid urged: “We should respect everyone, especially parents; this is our Islamic duty. It is a pity that the parents are alive and the person fails to serve them. Some of the children are successful and lucky to serve their parents; they give them money and put them on their shoulders and carry them”.

He considered kindness to parents “important” and said: “The companions who were keen to do the best deeds, asked the Holy Prophet: What are the best deeds? The Prophet said: Prayer! The companions asked again: ‘Which action is better after that?’ The Prophet said: ‘Serving the parents’. The companions asked: After that? The Prophet said: Jihad in the way of Allah. According to this narration, kindness to parents is even more important than jihad;  If parents do not allow  the children  to engage in jihad, the children are not allowed  to do that because serving parents is itself a jihad”, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid further said.

Describing the status of parents in Islam, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid emphasized: “Consider parents as an opportunity, do not upset them for wealth and don’t take them to the court for the material means. Do not sell or plunder their lands and properties. Serving parents is the biggest goodness that satisfies Allah and will save you in the grave and on the Day of Judgment”.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid further pointed out to the importance of “mercy” in Islam and said: “Communication with relatives is another part of the teachings of Islam as Abu-Sufyan told the Roman king: “One of the plans of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was for the people to make them aware of the rights of their parents.”

Friday Imam of Zahedan stated: “Meet with your relatives, if they are poor. Help them, if they are sick, visit them and make them happy”.

Crises of Muslim countries can’t be solved by exchanging harsh words

Alluding to signing of an agreement to normalize relations between the UAE and Bahrain with Israel, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid of Zahedan, Iran, saw it as the result of divisions among Muslim countries.

He urged on avoiding from denouncing each other and using hard words in the second part of his Friday speech in Zahedan, Iran.

The Iranian Sunnis leader stated: “Divisions that have arisen among Muslim countries are tragic. Some Islamic countries have normalized their relations with Israel and signed agreements in this regard.  While some others reacted negatively.”

President of Darululoom Zahedan said: “In my opinion, these crises will not be solved only by condemning and using harsh words against each other. Leaders of Islamic countries including Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and other powerful states of the region should negotiate with each other and think of serious solutions to solve the problems of the Islamic countries.”

Friday Imam of Zahedan pointed out: “The current situation that is the result of divisions among Islamic countries, pushed enemies to abuse these differences and divisions”.

“Divisions hit the security of the Muslim countries, hurt the interests of the Palestinian people and it is against the security of the whole region,” the outstanding scholar of Sunnis in Iran said.

He further emphasized: “The current differences among Islamic countries should be resolved through debates, negotiations and strategic ways”.

“Why don’t the leaders of the Islamic countries get along with each other?! Why can’t Islamic countries solve their problems?  Why should the United States, Russia and other non-Islamic countries address the issues of the Muslim world?” Shaikh Abdol-Hamid questioned.

He continued: “Islamic countries must solve their problems by themselves. This is in the interest of Islam and the Muslims of the world”.

In the final part of his speech, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid advised people to always keep the city clean and encouraged for tree planting in homes.
