The eminent Iranian Sunni scholar urged on the respect of elders and realizing the customs in his sermon of Feb. 19, 2016 calling on avoidance from dispersion.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid Isma’eelzahi began his sermon by the Noble Qur’anic verse: «يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا لَا يَسْخَرْ قَومٌ مِنْ قَوْمٍ عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونُوا خَيْرًا مِنْهُمْ وَلَا نِسَاءٌ مِنْ نِسَاءٍ عَسَى أَنْ يَكُنَّ خَيْرًا مِنْهُنَّ وَلَا تَلْمِزُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ وَلَا تَنَابَزُوا بِالْأَلْقَابِ بِئْسَ الِاسْمُ الْفُسُوقُ بَعْدَ الْإِيمَانِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَتُبْ فَأُولَئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ» and said, “There are many useful and important lessons for us in the chapter Hojorat. By acting upon the directions in this chapter, we can have the safest life with comfort.”

Alluding to some lessons of the chapter 49 in the Qur’an, he said, “In the beginning of the chapter, Allah Almighty has urged on the respect of elders and realizing respect of the Almighty and the Messenger of Allah. Everyone has a status and his/her respect should be protected according to his/her position.”

“Allah has called those who disrespect elders insane. Civilized people always take care of the etiquettes. Allah has warned us to investigate if any unfit person brings news; on the basis of such news we must not decide.”

He added more, “Many innocent people we knew them who were killed because of carelessness. The killers thought they had revenged the blood of their brothers, but after investigation they realized the slain was innocent. Many conflicts also erupted on the basis of false claims and misconceptions.”

Sectarian disputes harm faith and worldly life
Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid shed light on the losses of disputes and said, “By studying the Qur’an and Sunnah, it can be understood clearly that dispute harms not only the faith of people, but it is damaging for the worldly life of them, too. It is harmful for all.”

“Fleeing disputes and differences is very important. It has economic, cultural and political damages for all. Due to disputes, the rivals began to tell lie, backbite, accuse, humiliate each other and create troubles. Then enmity emerges among them and it ends up with conflicts and fights.”

He further said, “No one has superiority on the other but in piety. Arabs are not better than non-Arabs; all are the children of Adam and he is from the earth. We should not show off before each other. Only taqwa makes the person better than others.”

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan concluded his points by saying, “Misgiving has been common in the society. The Qur’an forbids people from mistrust without any acceptable reason. We should have positive mind about others and apparel the weak points and secrets of others. If you want to ink up any deal, or the case is about marriage or selecting mentor, then looking up for the secrets of people is allowed.

Candidates, their supporters avoid lie & accusation
In the second part of his speech, the outstanding Iranian Sunni leader alluded to the start of election campaign in Iran, and called on candidates and their supporters to take care of Islamic ethical codes.

Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said, “The general election for Majlis council is one of the important scenes in the country. There are many watchers throughout the world who observe the process carefully. The turnout should be soulful.”

“As there are many candidates for the election, all should be vigilant to do not tell lie or accuse each other with baseless blames. Humiliating rivals is a bad habit. We see some elements accuse their rivals with bogus claims in the social networking websites and internet,” he underlined.

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan further said, “Honesty is must in election. Vote is a trust and should be used honestly. Truthfulness and honesty are among the most important morals and best Islamic ethics. Telling lie means inviting the anger and curse of the Almighty.”

He called on the residents of Zahedan city to take part in polling and inform women to cast their votes, too.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid concluded his points by urging, “We should cast our votes carefully. All should strive to vote for the ‘best’, good, capable and experienced candidates who prefer public interests.”
