Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan, Iran, began his sermon of Friday 21st Nov. 2014 by the Qur\u2019anic verse: \u00ab\u0642\u064f\u0644\u0652 \u0625\u0650\u0646 \u0643\u064f\u0646\u062a\u064f\u0645\u0652 \u062a\u064f\u062d\u0650\u0628\u0651\u064f\u0648\u0646\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u0647\u064e \u0641\u064e\u0627\u062a\u0651\u064e\u0628\u0650\u0639\u064f\u0648\u0646\u0650\u064a \u064a\u064f\u062d\u0652\u0628\u0650\u0628\u0652\u0643\u064f\u0645\u064f \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u0647\u064f \u0648\u064e\u064a\u064e\u063a\u0652\u0641\u0650\u0631\u0652 \u0644\u064e\u0643\u064f\u0645\u0652 \u0630\u064f\u0646\u064f\u0648\u0628\u064e\u0643\u064f\u0645\u0652 \u0648\u064e\u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u0647\u064f \u063a\u064e\u0641\u064f\u0648\u0631\u064c \u0631\u0651\u064e\u062d\u0650\u064a\u0645\u064c\u00bb, (Say (O Prophet): \u201cIf you really love Allah, then follow me, and Allah shall love you and forgive you your sins. Allah is Most-Forgiving, Very-Merciful.\u201d<\/em>); [3:31]<\/span><\/p>\n

He said, \u201cThe prophets, peace be upon them, were the most experts in religious affairs. They were the owners of the revelation and they had direct contacts with Allah. They saw things and comprehended the points which others could not see. Thus we should accept whatever they ordered; we must imitate them whether we understand their philosophy or not.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The eminent Islamic scholar further said, \u201cThere are two kinds of Sunnah (ways of the prophet, peace be upon him); the first type is \u2018worshipping Sunnah\u2019. It is about Sunnahs related to the religion and the prophet emphasized on us to carry out them. It is necessary to act upon such Sunnahs. The second kind is \u2018habitual Sunnah\u2019; i.e. Sunnahs which were habits of the last messenger of Allah. It is recommended to carry out them and there would be rewards for them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe habits of the prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, are in accordance with the path of nature. Unlike our habits which can be away from the nature, the common habits of the prophets were on the way of nature\u201d, he added more.<\/span><\/p>\n

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan shed light on some habitual Sunnahs and said, \u201cOur beloved prophet, peace be upon him, used to begin any good work with the right side and end it with the left side such as wearing shoes, entering Masjid and eating and drinking. He used to lay on the right side of his body towards Qibla. There are many rewards for acting upon these habits of the prophet, peace be upon him.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBut some deeds like establishment of prayers in congregation, offering Sunnah prayers daily, using miswak (a teeth cleaning twig made from the Salvadora persica tree) in ablution and the rest of deeds which have been emphasized by the prophet, peace be upon him, are worshipping Sunnahs. There is blessing in each Sunnah of the prophet; acting on Sunnah constantly makes the life valuable. According to a Hadith, using miswak in ablution and then offering prayers give the person 70 times more rewards.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Expressing his regret over the negligence on some Sunnah prayers, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said, \u201cIt is very regrettable that some Muslims do not pay any attention to Sunnah and they confine themselves with obligatory prayers; while Sunnah prayers should be offered too.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He underlined, \u201cSunnah is exactly the path of moderation and temperance. Sunnahs and habits of the prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, are the best and shortest ways lead to the Almighty. If the Companions, peace be upon them, got a high position before Allah and He announced His satisfaction at them, it was just due to their imitation of Sunnah. They abided with Shari\u2019ah law. The Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, used to strive to pass their routine lives according to the directions and ways of the prophet, peace be upon. The entire Qur\u2019an was in the life of the prophet.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan further said, \u201cThe actions of the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, were examples of the life of the prophet, peace be upon him. In the early years of Islam, people who had not seen the prophet, they could realize how he was and how he spent his life by seeing the Companions.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of his sermon, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid called on all to act on the Sunnah of the prophet, peace be upon him, and said, \u201cBy the ways and Sunnahs of the prophet Muhammad we can make ourselves closer to Allah; it makes lives full of blessings and virtues. The life would be similar to the life of the prophet. Allah says: (Say (O Prophet): \u201cIf you really love Allah, then follow me, and Allah shall love you and forgive you your sins. Allah is Most-Forgiving, Very-Merciful.<\/em>\u201d); [3:31]. It is the biggest benefit of Sunnah.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
