{"id":291,"date":"2014-10-29T14:21:05","date_gmt":"2014-10-29T10:51:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/wp3\/2014\/10\/29\/letter-to-king-ksa\/"},"modified":"2014-10-29T14:21:05","modified_gmt":"2014-10-29T10:51:05","slug":"letter-to-king-ksa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abdolhamid.net\/english\/2014\/10\/291\/","title":{"rendered":"Mawlana Asks KSA to Cancel Death Penalty of al-Nimr"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small; line-height: 1.3em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/stories\/news\/molana-nameh.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" align=\"right\" \/>In a letter to Abdullah Ibn Abdul-Aziz, king of Saudi Arabia, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid asked him to cancel the issued sentence against \u201cSheikh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr\u201d, one of the prominent Shia clerics in Saudi Arabia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">According to the office of the Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader, indicated to the critical situation of the Muslim world in his letter counting \u201cunity\u201d and \u201cfraternity\u201d among the main needs of Muslim Ummah.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">He termed \u201ccooperation\u201d, and \u201cwisdom and foresight\u201d the ways leading Muslims to those two important goals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">Addressing the king of Saudi Arabia in a part of his letter, Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan stated: \u201cThe enemies of Islam always look up opportunities to exploit them against Muslims and they just want to add fuel to fires in the Muslim states. Thus, I would like to call you -on behalf of the Iranian Sunni scholars and elites- to stop the execution sentence of \u201cSheikh Nimr Baqir Nimr\u201d by applying your royal special authority\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">Mawlana Abdol-Hamid has underlined: \u201cThis step [cancellation of capital punishment] would end up with \u201cstrengthening unity and fraternity among Muslims.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">The member of the International Union for Muslim Scholars concluded: \u201cUndoubtedly, cancellation of this sentence by you will lead to some absolute positive results; it will further fortify the glance of friendship and fraternity.
