{"id":1646,"date":"2019-10-21T10:47:02","date_gmt":"2019-10-21T06:17:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abdolhamid.net\/english\/?p=1646"},"modified":"2019-10-21T10:47:04","modified_gmt":"2019-10-21T06:17:04","slug":"sunni-fiqh-doesnt-allow-mourning-on-ashura-arbaeen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abdolhamid.net\/english\/2019\/10\/1646\/","title":{"rendered":"Sunni Fiqh Doesn\u2019t Allow Mourning on Ashura, Arba\u2019een"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said in a part of his speech before the Friday prayers of Oct. 18, 2019 that \u201cIslamic unity has root in Qur&#8217;an and Sunnah\u201d. He criticized some state departments over forcing Sunnis to take part in ceremonies and rituals against their tenets.<\/p>\n<p>The Friday prayer Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan emphasized on the necessity of mutual respect and seeking common grounds by saying: &#8220;Mourning of Muharram and Arba\u2019een is one of the most important beliefs of Shia brothers which is not authorized in Sunni Fiqh\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Mawlana Abdol-Hamid praised Allah for Iranian unique brotherhood and said that \u201cIslam teaches us the lesson of brotherhood which has been derived from the Qur&#8217;an and Sunnah.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said that fraternity among tribes and unity of Muslim sects should not be based on political interests; rather it is originated from the Qur&#8217;an and Sunnah.<\/p>\n<p>Emphasizing on the necessity of seeking common points, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said: \u201cThe Supreme Leader of the Revolution said in one of his speeches where I was present &#8220;We have as much as common points\/tenets that we have no time for disagreements.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said that we have numerous common areas to respect one another and to allow every Muslim sect practicing on its fatwa and jurisprudence.<\/p>\n<p>Describing the concept of unity, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said: \u201cUnity does not mean to combine religions and sects together. It does not mean that followers of one religion\/sec should follow the rituals of the other one. Every religion has different principles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said: \u201cThe founder of the Islamic Republic, the Supreme leader, the officials and the scholars of Sunni and Shiite agree that unity does not mean to combine two religions in one. every religion should be followed by its followers.<\/p>\n<p>Mawlana Abdol-Hamid explained that the love of Ahlul-Bayt and Imams is common between Shiites and Sunnis because the households belong to all Muslims not to any particular sect or group.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunnis do not believe in mourning on Ashura and Arba\u2019een<\/strong><br \/>\nMawlana Abdol-Hamid continued that mourning of Arba\u2019een\/<em>Chehelom<\/em> and Ashura is a Shia religious observance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately some lower authorities want Sunnis to attend such ceremonies, while the senior officials do not have this idea, this idea cannot bring unity, it will leave a negative result,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>President of the Darululoom Zahedan urged saying that acting upon fatwa is the sign of piety.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAccording to the teachings of Islam each school of thought should be followed by its followers. To strengthen unity and fraternity, we should allow everyone to follow his own sect and school of thought. I\u2019d like to suggest authorities to avoid such actions which destroy unity and cause discord,\u201d he further said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Organizing Caravans and walking on feet for visiting graves have no proof in Sunni jurisprudence<\/strong><br \/>\nShaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said that launching and organizing caravans and walking on feet for visiting shrines and graves of holy individuals have no proof in Sunni Fiqh. Although Sunnis have Hadiths for just visiting graves and taking lesson, but organizing caravans and walking on feet to visit graves and shrines have not been proved and authorized in Sunni jurisprudence.<\/p>\n<p>The Friday prayer Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan appreciated the officials of the Ministry of Sports and Young for their services and said: &#8220;Exercise is very important for health of body and soul. It destroys diseases and keeps the body safe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mawlana Abdol-Hamid also thanked the Health Insurance Bureau\u2019s services and expressed his hoped that the services of this bureau would be extended in future.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quran is the best guide for the health of body and soul<\/strong><br \/>\nShaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said that Quran is the best guide for the health of body and soul.<\/p>\n<p>Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, the Friday prayer Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan, mentioned some fatal sins, in the second part of his speech and said that suspicion and arrogance are two root causes of sins which are mental\/spiritual illnesses.<\/p>\n<p>Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said: \u201cQuran is the best guide for the health of body and soul\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cAs body needs food, soul also needs food for nourishment\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The Friday prayer Imam of Sunnis said that as body disease needs treatment, mental illnesses also needs cure.<\/p>\n<p>Mawlana Abdol-Hamid alluded to some inner diseases and said: \u201cBackbiting, spying, slandering, telling lie and having suspicion without any reason are big sins\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He said that suspicion is the source of many sins; unfortunately, suspicion has increased in our society.
